Snow Day Sour | Taste and Tipple

Snow Day Sour

This sour is made with Valley of Mother of God Canadian Dry Gin which offers a symphony of flavours including juniper, apple, cranberry, black walnut, and rosemary. These earthy and warming notes are accompanied by a chorus of citrus and a bit of froth in this elegantly balanced cocktail.

  • ¾ oz blood orange juice
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • oz honey thyme & vermouth syrup
  • 1 egg white or ¾ oz aquafaba
  • Garnish: thyme sprig

Honey, Thyme & Vermouth Syrup

  • 1 cup dry vermouth
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup fresh thyme sprigs

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker and dry shake for 15-20 seconds. Add ice and shake again until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.

Honey, Thyme & Vermouth Syrup

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat – do not boil. Stir often until honey is fully incorporated, thyme is fragrant and syrup is thickened – about 10 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.

  3. Remove solids and fine strain into an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
