Citrus Garland Cocktail

A split-base cocktail made with equal parts mezcal and Cointreau results in bright, smoky sipper that is as refreshing as it is unusual.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz mezcal
  • ¾ oz grapefruit juice
  • 1/3 oz honey rosemary ginger syrup
  • 2 dashes fig & cinnamon bitters
  • Garnish: grapefruit twist

Honey Rosemary Ginger Syrup

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 ” fresh ginger peeled and sliced
  • ½ cup fresh rosemary sprigs

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Honey Rosemary Ginger Syrup

  1. Combine honey, water, ginger, and rosemary sprigs in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring often, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit at room temperature until completely cool.
  2. Remove rosemary sprigs and ginger, store syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three weeks.
