Let’s Get Blitzen: Cocktail Advent Calendar – Day 24 – Orange Chai.
Holy shit, we did it. Twenty-four days of cocktails, complete. The orange chai is another contender for Christmas morning cocktail. With freshly brewed chai tea as the base, sugar, milk, Grand Marnier and amber rum, this is a warming cocktail for any time of day.
If you’d prefer an herbal tea, I would encourage you to consider the Red-Nosed Nightcap which employs chilled hibiscus tea as its foundation. If you need something stronger, the Coffee Flip is probably your best bet.
What’s been your favourite cocktail featured throughout this little advent calendar? Chime in on the comments below. Oh, you didn’t catch them all, don’t worry, they are all listed under the Tipples section in Recipes. I’ll wait.
Now that this little adventure is complete, I think I’ll probably take a bit of a break from the cocktails and dish up some healthy eats throughout January so you can at least make some half-assed effort toward achieving your New Year’s resolutions. How does that sound?
For myself, I am hoping to take a bit of a break from the booze in January, get to the gym a bit more often and bring back the green smoothies and salads. Frankly, I’m surprised I haven’t come down with scurvy over the course of the last month.
You might be surprised at the sad state of my fridge on most days. Usually I only need to make one or two savoury meals per week and I’ll have enough leftovers to get me through most lunch and dinners. #singlelife
I do try to find excuses to host friends for dinner so I am not stuck eating the same thing over the course of five consecutive days. It doesn’t matter how delicious something is, after four meals, my tastebuds are craving something new.
So, brace yourself for some healthier eats at the outset of 2019 and I’ll try to work in a mix of easy/intermediate/advanced recipes so there’s something for every kind of home cook.
In the meantime, I hope you’ll spend what’s left of 2018 sipping on different Taste & Tipple cocktails for all your gatherings.
Cheers!
