Let’s Get Blitzen: Cocktail Advent Calendar – Day 23 – Blood Orange Mojito. You may be wondering, “Woah, when did it get so tropical in here?” And the answer to that would be, when I landed in Florida yesterday morning and then shot this drink.
It’s FINALLY blood orange season, rejoice. This citrus fruit is one of nature’s jewels, and makes everything, including your white sweater if you’re not careful when juicing, a delightful ruby red.
Yes, I’m a lucky devil and will be spending the holidays in the sunny south. I might still be able to muster my own version of a white Christmas though, the sand on the beaches here are as pure white as the driven snow.
Do you hate me yet? Sorry, not sorry.
I’m hoping to get in plenty of tennis, one of my favourite sports, a round of golf and maybe even some pickleball.
Haven’t heard of pickleball? It’s a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and also happens to be the fastest growing sport in North America. It’s all the rage here in Florida and it sounds like it might be fun.
Aside from all that activity, I’m planning to cook lots of delicious meals for my family, try to develop some kind of tan, even if that just equates to looking like I have blood in my veins and am not some kind of Irish vampire, and relaxing.
You can bet your bottom dollar that I’m going to be taking a few days off after posting the last instalment of the Let’s Get Blitzen: Cocktail Advent Calendar tomorrow. But I’m feeling confident that I’ve armed you with enough liquid inspiration to make it through to 2020.
