Originally from Cambridge, ON, I moved to Ottawa 12 years ago to study journalism at Carleton University. With the exception of a stint in Kigali, Rwanda and grad school in Toronto, I’ve been here ever since.
The food and drink scene in our nation’s capital has continued to evolve during my time here and it just keeps getting better. On Taste & Tipple, I will be sharing some of my favourite spots to eat, drink and revel throughout the city and beyond.
When I’m not discovering Ottawa’s newest hot spot or an old favourite, I’m in my kitchen at home whipping up new recipes from my favourite blogs, cookbooks and, my personal favourite, the Food & Drink magazine. I first fell in love with food at age 12 and you can learn more about my origin story as a foodie in my first blog post.
I love a good stiff drink and will be mixing plenty of those along the way too.

Aside from exploring our fair city, cooking or bartending at home, I spend my time reading this month’s book pick with the Unputdownable Book Club, visiting art galleries to check out the latest exhibit, shopping or trying to balance out my indulgent diet by staying active.

The blue streets and homes of Chefchaouen, Morocco.
I also love to travel and try to satisfy my wanderlust on at least one big trip each year. You can read about my most recent exploration of Morocco from Marrakech to Fes on the blog and feast on one of my favourite culinary souvenirs, this lamb tagine taught to me by a local.
As I take on new adventures, locally and globally, I’ll be sure to share those with you too!
Thanks for joining me and I hope you’ll stop by often!
