Warm your hands on a cup of hot cocoa with some added kick from bourbon, orange liqueur, and spicy clementine cordial.

Ingredients
1cupmilk or plant-based milk of your choice
¼cupgood quality dark chocolatechopped
1pinchof salt
1ozbourbon
½ozGrand Marnier
½ozspicy clementine cordial
Garnish: marshmallows
Spicy Clementine Cordial
8limespeeled and juiced (approx. 4 oz lime juice)
4clementinespeeled and juiced (approx. 4 oz clementine juice)
2-inchpiece of fresh gingerpeeled and chopped
6cracked cardamom pods
1Thai chilidiced
1½cupsgranulated sugar
Instructions
Add milk, dark chocolate, and a pinch of salt to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk continuously until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth (do not boil).
Meanwhile, charge a heatproof mug with hot water.
When the hot chocolate is nearly ready, discard hot water. Add bourbon, orange liqueur, and cordial to the mug. Top with hot chocolate. Stir well.
Garnish with marshmallows.
Spicy Clementine Cordial
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan (including all citrus peels) over medium heat. Bring to a low boil, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat to medium low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes until syrup is slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
Remove solids and fine strain into an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
