Let’s Get Blitzen: Cocktail Advent Calendar – Day 23 – Mistletoe Spritz. Who says a Spritz is only meant to be enjoyed in the summer? This Mistletoe Spritz is proof that you can have a refreshing red wine spritz alongside your turkey dinner. This cocktail boasts many of the warming spices of a mulled wine but is served chilled with a bit of club soda to lengthen. It’s an easy-drinking seasonal crowd-pleaser.
I can promise you that my mom is going to love this one and so is anyone who enjoys slurping down countless Aperol Spritzes in the warmer months.
I’m pleased to report that Michael and I did, in fact, mess around and demolish a wall in the basement. We spent a chunk of our Sunday removing the demolition detritus to the ever-growing garbage mountain behind our garage. It was a great workout but teamwork makes the dream work, as I always say. We even lugged out the old oven and microwave.
We called in reinforcements to help us hoist the 400-pound quartz countertop on top of the new lower cabinets in the basement kitchen (which we found for a steal on Facebook marketplace and snatched up on a whim).
Michael wanted to have the basement cleaned out and organized before hosting for the holidays. While it hasn’t been a particularly restful start to the season, I am relieved to be ridding ourselves of the junk that has been piling up in the forgotten floor that is the basement – and getting one step closer to realizing my dream home bar.
Tune into my Instagram Stories tonight at 5 p.m. Eastern for a step-by-step cocktail tutorial on how to make this truly easy-drinking delight.
Cheers, friends!
