FINALLY, layering season is in full effect. I live for a layered moment and am ecstatic to finally debut my first FALL FASHION lewk. All photos in this post were captured by my very talented friend John-Finnigan Lin.

I was recently shopping in-store at the deserted Nordstrom in the Rideau Centre and was delighted to find that their stores now carry British brand Reiss. I stumbled across this creamy, dreamy sweater dress from the brand and had to have it. The fabric is impossibly soft (like wearing a hug) and drapes beautifully.
I find September the hardest month to dress for. You definitely need a jacket or at least a sweater when you leave the house in the morning but by noon you are deeply regretting your wardrobe choices as you sweat to death. I think I particularly struggle with this because I have a very tenuous grasp on just how hot or cold 15 degrees Celsius is.
October, on the other hand, is my jam. The temperature is a bit more reliable and you can rock BOTH a sweater AND a jacket, or in this case, a sweater dress. Option to remove the jacket or throw it over your shoulder if you start to overheat.
I picked up this cognac coloured wool wrap coat from Ted Baker at the end of last season on deep discount but this piece is a staple in their collection and I’ve linked it for you. Unfortunately the cognac colour is no longer available but it is on offer in a beige, black, green and blush.
I’m a loyal fan of Wolford hosiery and alway have a well-stocked lingerie drawer with their Neon 40 tights in black. I should probably be on commission based on how hard I push their hosiery – it’s just head and shoulders above any other brand I’ve ever worn. They feel incredible, they last for years, they make your legs look amazing, and are well worth the $50 investment.
Honestly, I hated almost all stockings before investing in this style. I was sick to death of pulling on a pair of tights for the first time and slicing clean through them with my nails or constantly pulling them up as the crotch started to sag after walking 10 steps.
I’m also sporting my favourite fall booties. I got these black suede WATERPROOF booties by Italian footwear brand Aquatalia a couple years ago but they are still available in black and navy on Saks. They aren’t too high, while still elongating the leg.
The hat is a bespoke piece from local shop The Saucy Milliner. It’s actually identical to the hat worn by Blake Lively in the film A Simple Favor. Kelly, the owner, is an incredibly talented milliner and I highly recommend popping by her shop on Sussex if you’re based in Ottawa.
For my other accessories, I’m revisiting two pieces I featured in my Ladylike Summer Style post: a statement open collar necklace from Lulu Frost and a timeless box bag in brown croc leather from J.W. PEI. I’ve linked similar styles in the Shop The Look widget above.
