Kentucky Bonfire

Ingredients

  • ½ oz bourbon
  • ½ oz port
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • ½ oz cinnamon syrup
  • 4 oz sparkling wine
  • 1 vanilla bean, for garnish
  • 1 lemon twist, for garnish
  • 1 dash fig and cinnamon bitters

Pitcher Cocktail For a Crowd

  • ½ cup bourbon
  • ½ cup port
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup cinnamon syrup
  • 4 dashes fig and cinnamon bitters
  • 4 cups sparkling wine
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 8 lemon twists, for garnish

Cinnamon Syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. To a wine glass with ice, add ½ oz bourbon, ½ oz port, ½ oz lemon juice, ½ oz Simple Syrup (recipe follows) and a dash of bitters. Top with 4 oz sparkling wine and garnish with a vanilla bean and a lemon twist.

FOR A CROWD

  1. To a pitcher or punch bowl, add ½ cup (125 mL) bourbon, ½ cup (125 mL) port, ½ cup (125 mL) lemon juice, ½ cup (125 mL) Simple Syrup (recipe follows) and 4 dashes bitters. Top with 4 cups (1 L) sparkling wine and add a vanilla bean. Pour into glasses with ice. Garnish each with a lemon twist.

Cinnamon Syrup

  1. Combine sugar, water, and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let sit at room temperature overnight.

  2. Remove cinnamon sticks and store syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
