Let’s Get Blitzen: Cocktail Advent Calendar – Day 8 – Cranberry Mule. A Moscow Mule gets a mocktail makeover with a seasonal twist. Ceder’s Wild non-alcoholic spirit brings aromatic and spicy notes that pair perfectly with cranberry and ginger.
Ceder’s Wild is perfect for those who like a bit more bite, with notes of clove, juniper, oak and ginger. It is a distilled non-alcoholic spirit with a spicy flavour and a smooth finish.

You can purchase Ceder’s in Ottawa at Jacobsons in New Edinburgh and you can also grab a bottle of Gimber (ginger concentrate) which I’ve used to great effect in this mocktail while you’re there. Gimber is a great addition to your non-alcoholic home bar because the ginger concentrate adds both the heat and density that zero-proof drinks often lack.
Jacobsons is easily my favourite gourmet food store in the Nation’s Capital. They have an incredible selection of cheeses, cured meats, prepared foods, my favourite licorice (Lakrids by Bulow), cute kitchen/dining accessories, and a wide array of non-alcoholic products, amongst countless other products. You can find plenty of great gifts for the gourmand in your life there.
Ceder’s was created in 2017 by husband-and-wife entrepreneurs, Craig Hutchison and Maria Sehlstrom. Ceder’s recipe has been developed by distilling both classic gin botanicals like juniper with more exotic botanicals like rooibos and buchu, sourced from the Cederberg Mountains of the Western Cape in South Africa – where Ceder’s gets its name.
The Ceder’s range is comprised of four distinct flavour profiles, each with a foundation of 18 different botanicals that are carefully curated to achieve the desired distilled non-alcoholic expression of gin. Coriander and juniper are core botanicals featured in each of the styles. Once curation is complete, the Ceder’s distilling team work in small batches to extract the botanicals for each of the four expressions.
These meticulously harvested and distilled flavours are then blended together to create the 4 distinct flavour profiles of the range: Classic, Crisp, Rose and Wild. Each of the profiles contains zero sugar, zero calories, and 0% alcohol – while remaining full of flavour.
Having quality non-alcoholic options on hand is essential for holiday entertaining – whether your guests are driving, enjoy a sober lifestyle, or simply want to consume in moderation. I feel strongly that those choosing not to imbibe shouldn’t have to survive off fruit juice or sparkling water, ensure they’re truly part of the celebration by shaking up a thoughtfully composed spirit-free cocktail like this Cranberry Mule.
Be sure to tune into my Instagram Stories tonight at 5 p.m. Eastern for a step-by-step cocktail tutorial on how to make this truly refreshing Sober Sunday sipper.
Cheers, friends!
